Biography

THE RED DEVIL INCIDENT

The Red Devil Incident are a kick in the teeth, a punch in society’s guts. Outspoken, unrelenting and committed to their mission. One band might not be able to change the world, but The Red Devil Incident will certainly give it a try. This is punk rock ethics for a digital and wasted generation.

Formed in 2000 as GodEngine before changing its name in 2004, The Red Devil Incident performs a unique, uncompromising and evolving blend of industrial rock and electronica, with a message aimed to make people open their eyes to the world around them.

In 2006, The Red Devil Incident released their debut album Self Degraded Suicide through their own label Degraded Discord. The nine track album, featuring production advise from Adi Winman [Skunk Anansie, Jamiroquai], was well received by fans at home and abroad. Japanese magazine Shake! Magazine described the release as “political lyrics and a twisted world view, all bundled up in a pop sound.” The album was released digitally through iTunes and other on-line stores in 2007.

October 2009 saw the release of the band’s second album In Dreams We Sleep through Ekleipsi. The album is also available through iTunes and streaming through Spotify.

Music by The Red Devil Incident has appeared on Nadeo‘s TrackMania Sunrise (PC, 2005), Trackmania Sunrise Extreme (PC, 2006), THQ‘s MotoGP06 (xBox360, 2006), Modern Life?‘s independent UK film Ten Dead Men (Film, 2008), Tailslating Production’s interactive web series The Hayley Project (Episode 6, 2008), as well as short films and CD compilations.

The band has also released two Creative Commons licensed EPs, as well as releases through net-labels Frigida Records (2007) and Ekleipsi (2008 – 2009).

In October 2008, The Red Devil Incident released a range of limited edition T-Shirts – RDI@KS – exclusively through KillerStrawberry clothing. RDI@KS’s clothing products were designed personally by Dominic Lyne and were individually screen-printed by hand on ethical cotton ensuring that RDI and their customers know that no-one’s rights were undermined during the production of their clothing.

During 2010, band frontman Dominic Lyne was diagnosed with having severe mental health disorders and entered into an intensive treatment in September 2012. The Red Devil Incident‘s third album The Heart of Darkness was recorded during this two year period and captures the pain and anguish he experienced. The album was released on 10 November 2012 – the second anniversary of the date of his first diagnosis.

The band is totally dedicated to the music they write and are passionate about it, building strong links with their fans and trying to get their message out to as many people as possible.

Pray for forgiveness, Dream of redemption.
