But Empires Fall

.GIF POEM version
Text Version

Your face a cold smile,
tongue-tied with its empty words.
Meaning hidden where?

Throwing lies with ease,
a two-faced monotony
playing a name game.

A gun to the head.
Held hostage, kept in the dark.
Bullet hole flowers.

But empires fall
under the red setting sun.
Hanged by your own lies.

Sing “Hallelujah,
now the Beast will be punished
the victims can sleep.”
